A sensible person would probably save the money and buy a car that's not French and slow, but it's better than all these cars with giant exhausts and £50 bodykits held on with chewing gum.
When I saw it happening I was gutted, it spoiled the whole race for me. I feel really bad for Rob Smedley, having to tell Massa to do something like that must have been horrible for him. Had it been another driver being told by a different engineer maybe I wouldn't have been so gutted, but Massa and Rob are too likeable to be dumped on in that way.
In my opinion it was the right thing to do for the championship, but the way they did it was obvious and ugly. They should have made the call much earlier, when Massa was actually holding up Alonso after the first pitstops. I also agree with the comments at the time that a drivers engineer shouldn't be the one giving the order, it should come directly from the person that made the decision.
Here are some pics, one is from a very close online race, actually managed to avoid hitting someones rear bumper by about an inch, the other is just a picture of my Ferrari 250 GTO.
EDIT: uploaded a picture of my latest creation, it's a replica paintjob of the Veyron Super Sport, complete with carbon fibre.
When I saw the subject and the poster of this thread I assumed it would be about obtaining herbal cannabis for his large pet pig, but it's about gardening and plant related stuff! I'm am both confused and pleasantly suprised, hopefully threads like this will minimise our forums carbon footprint. [etals:]
Keep up the great work Scawen, some of us do pay attention to your words, not that you would know it by reading this thread. This thread actually reminds me of The Wise and Foolish Builders, Scawen being the wise man who built his house on rock, the complainers being the foolish men who built their houses on sand.
Some nice cars, the Mclaren is brilliant and the new Cadillac is great for drifting. But other than that it's mostly small hatchbacks, some nice ones though, including the Colt which I easily got over 200mph out of, tuned up to R3.
That's the mark of a good presenter though, his job is to bridge the gap between talking to Sir Stirling Moss and watching a replay. The fact he let a legend like Murray Walker do his thing just demonstrates his understanding of what the fans want to see, and the respect he has for everyone involved in the sport. I don't think he is the best thing on TV, but he certainly deserves more praise and respect than other people on the BBC such as Jonathan Ross.
I thought the whole coverage was excellent today, they didn't really miss a trick, any action that was missed was quickly followed up with several replays and all the battles got good air time, not just the front runners or the home favourites. I know you critise the BBC Intrepid, but for me the BBC show other channels how quality live sport coverage is done, and I'm so happy we don't have to put up with ITV anymore.
That Jake bloke is a brilliant presenter of live television, and he has shown more appreciation for the job he has and the sport he is covering than any other F1 presenter I've ever seen. Speak to anyone who has ever been involved in television and they will tell you what a good job he does. The fact he has to handle Eddie Jordan makes his job hard enough! Perhaps the level of intelligence and wit he displays just goes over your head, maybe he should throw in some swear words or fart jokes to bring the coverage down to your level of understanding.
Loved it, the whole weekend was entertaining, fantastic recovery from Mclaren and I'm so glad to see Webber proving his teams decision was wrong. Oh and awesome overtake by Rosberg.
Started playing this again recently, and I made a 250mph Chevrolet Aveo. Needless to say, putting a V8 from a Corvette and then dumping a huge supercharger on it does lead to some issues, namely that it's almost uncontrollable. It is quite fun though, especially when you crash and end up rolling a few dozen times.
I went into work today and all the guys were talking about how great Germany are, it was shocking. So even if Germany doesn't win the cup, you can at least be proud that your team won the approval and admiration of the English, who traditionally hate everything German (except sausages, burgers and beer).
Just watching the game again on BBC Three, and I have to say the Germans attitude to the game was superb. I didn't see any dives, no time wasting, they didn't fake any injuries and they always tried to stay on their feet. I now feel much better about losing to them 4-1, there is no shame in being beaten by champions.
